After some months I started working there, I was assigned as a tour conductor of an African Photographic Safari, and I was so thrilled, just imagine this; Your boss calls you into his office to tell you that … “You’re going to Africa”. “Get your passport ready because we have to get your visas”. This was going to be a fantastic experience!
Watch the video and you’ll see what I mean about a fantastic experience!
I travelled with a small group of 17 people, most were well-traveled persons, started with Varig to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, we got the visas for SouthAfrica, we flew SouthAfrican Airways, arrived Johannesburg airport, I learned what was the Apartheid, a terrible way to live for all the colored people, terrible. I visited Pretoria, Cape Town, and Cape point, the southernmost point of Africa.
Now on to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe (Formerly Rhodesia), very impressive falls, I had visited before Niagara Falls, also very impressive, but I think Victoria Falls are much more impressive.
We continued to Kenya & Tanzania where the Photographic Safari took place, we visited, Nairobi in Kenya, then we drove to Arusha and Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, continued to Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro & Olduvai Gorge and finally, the plains of Serengeti, this journey has been the most fantastic experience I’ve ever lived, towards the end, we flew to Ghana, Abidjan in Ivory Coast, Senegal, and Morocco.
